Something
about me

Hello, my name is Edwin, I am a social iMpact investor and a managing partner of a private equity management group, Vertical Fund Management. I believe in People ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ | Purpose ๐ŸŒŽ | Profit ๐Ÿ’ฐ and this is reflected not only in the mission of my company, but will be the topic for an upcoming podcast I will be hosting.

My fund and I are focused on addressing an epidemic social dilemma seen throughout the US today, the Veteran dilemma of Homelessness ๐Ÿš, Unemployment ๐Ÿ›’ and the loss of a Purpose Driven Life. Our goal is to eradicate this dilemma by addressing sustainability, conservational, and technological social challenges through Real Estate Investing.

Why is the Veteran dilemma so close to my heart? Having been honorably discharged after 13 1/2 years of service in the United States Army, with multiple combat tours as an Infantryman, and as a Green Beret, I experienced the challenges that veterans go through; adapting to civilian life again, finding purpose after the service, struggles with the experiences I endured and lived through, and most importantly how to reintegrate with my family.

We have all heard the statistic of veteran suicide rate being higher than their civilian counterparts. The veteran community also suffers from increasing homelessness and struggles with readjusting to civilian life and more importantly finding their new life’s life’s purpose outside of the military.

Edwin has been on of the biggest influencers on me and my career. When I first talk to Edwin his first words were ``how can I help you!`` and I knew then he was someone to model after. He is incredible at seeing the big picture in order to make the necessary changes needed in any problem, process and/or surprises all the while communicating all the details of the project at hand.

We are both part of the same ecosystem, while attending a seminar together Edwin gave a presentation on ``projects gone bad``. He share all the issues and was completely honest about all the aspect of the project in communication, new updates and delivery on the solution to those problems to all his partners and investors. He created accountability, getting the right pieces in place for all the moving parts to work together to get the end goal.

He is a born leader, he is quick, he is motivated to work with and to talk to. A true player in his industry , I will always continue to learn from .
